One iconic skirt.  My heart has long been invested in redefining and refining the traditional rodeo skirt. 

Charras are women who participate in the Mexican equestrian sport of escaramuza, which is part of the culture of charrería. The riders sit side-saddle. Their performances include spins, crosses, and other exercises that come together into a synchronized ballet. The sport is scored on skill, execution, grace, elegance, and attire, and the women’s clothing often tells a story of Mexican history and women’s perseverance. 

It is the second product I sourced when I started Polished Coconut in 2006. It is the heart of the brand. It represents everything that I love and stand by: brave and resilient women, female athletes, handmade artisan craft, and culture.
